What Are Dental Veneers

What Are Dental Veneers Made of

Veneers Itinerary & Travel Diary

Day 1/2:

Arrive at Istanbul International Airport.
Transfer from airport to hotel to check in.
Your cosmetic dentistry clinic will be in touch to bring you to the clinic. If it is a late arrival you will go on the following morning.
Once arrived at the clinic your dentist will prepare you for your treatment taking measurements and carrying out the required work to prepare you for your veneers.

Day 3-5

How long will my veneers last?

Your veneers should last a good 7 to 15 years, depending on how well you take care of them. After this time though they’ll need to be replaced.

How many veneers will I need?

You’ll need to consult with a dentist first to establish how many veneers you’ll need, although it’s always best to go for an even number rather than an odd number. For the best aesthetic results, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 veneers are often the way to go.

What’s the best way to take care of my veneers?

You shouldn’t treat your veneers any differently from your natural teeth, and therefore brushing twice a day, flossing, and making regular visits to the dentist will all continue to be necessary. If you want to take extra steps though, you could wear a bite guard at night, and avoid eating very hard foods.

Will the procedure be painful?

Your dentist will likely numb your mouth while fitting your veneers, so you shouldn’t experience any pain during the procedure. While those only having 2 or 4 veneers fitted shouldn’t experience much discomfort once the anaesthetic wears off, those with 8 or more may feel some soreness around the gums or the jaw. If it gets a bit much though, the pain can be treated with over the counter medications.

Are there any foods I should avoid after getting my veneers fitted?

Your veneers work just the same as your natural teeth, and they’re incredibly robust. Therefore there won’t be any foods you should avoid, although you should try and stick to soft foods for the first few days while you get used to having them. Only in extreme circumstances will your dentist advise you to avoid certain hard foods.

Could my veneers come off?

While unlikely, there is a chance that your veneers could become dislodged and fall off. If this happens, get in touch with your dentist and schedule an appointment to have it replaced. If you experience sensitivity to cold liquids or foods with your exposed natural tooth then there’s no need to worry, as this is to be expected.

Will my veneer treatment be reversible?

Since it’s necessary for some enamel to be removed in order to make room for the veneers, the procedure isn’t a reversible one.

Will my veneers stain?

Drinking tea, coffee or red wine shouldn’t cause your veneers to stain.

Will my veneers be sensitive to hot or cold drinks?

For the first few days following your veneers being fitted you should expect them to be somewhat sensitive to hot or cold drinks, due to the thin layer of enamel that was removed. This will quickly settle and return to normal, however.

Are there any alternatives to veneers?

If your dentist decides you’re not a well suited candidate for veneers, you may alternatively benefit from one or more of the following treatments:
